Invest in Equitable Urban Health — Globally

Urban environments are the defining public health context of the 21st century. The conditions of cities — housing quality, neighborhood design, climate resilience, access to services, and social cohesion — determine health outcomes for billions of people and represent the terrain on which the most consequential health investments of this generation will be made.

ISUH exists to ensure that investment in these conditions is evidence-based, equitable, community-grounded, and globally connected. We do this through the convening, research, implementation, and field-building described throughout this site — with demonstrated outcomes across more than two decades and more than 70 countries.

The Case for Funding ISUH

  • Convening capacity: ISUH's global network — including 500+ institutional partners and an annual conference of thousands — provides funders with a platform for influence that no single project or institution can replicate.

  • Implementation experience: Our project portfolio spans multiple countries, health conditions, and community contexts. We bring genuine implementation experience, not a theoretical model.

  • Field leverage: Investments in ISUH's convening, advocacy, and field-building activities generate multiplied returns: training practitioners, shaping policy, and growing the capacity of a global field.

  • Transparent accountability: We report clearly on activities, expenditures, and outcomes. We do not overstate impact or obscure limitations.

  • Strategic alignment: ISUH's Priority Areas — health equity, climate and health, healthy places, and health across the lifecourse — align directly with the strategic priorities of the world's leading health, sustainability, and equity foundations.

Ways to Support

  • Foundation and Institutional Grants: Funding specific projects, research programs, or conference programming. We welcome conversations about aligning ISUH's work with a foundation's current strategic priorities.

  • ICUH Conference Sponsorship: Positioning an organization at the center of global urban health dialogue. Multiple sponsorship tiers are available for ICUH 2026 in Mexico City.

  • Project Co-Funding: Joint investment in an active or planned ISUH project — with co-design conversations available for funders interested in shaping program priorities.

  • General Operating Support: Unrestricted support for ISUH's core capacity — the hardest to secure and among the most impactful forms of philanthropic investment.

  • Individual Philanthropy: One-time and recurring individual gifts in support of ISUH's mission.

Engage with ISUH

The most productive partnerships between ISUH and its funders begin with a substantive conversation. We invite foundations, institutions, government agencies, and private sector organizations to connect with us about aligning resources with shared goals.
